 What is yogurt?

At 1908, a Nobel Prize winner Russian bacteriologist Dr. Ilya Ilich Mechnikov conducted a research to find secrets of long life from the society with high lift time rate around the world, and found out that the secret lies behind their eating style. For centuries, they practiced drinking milk which has been fermented with lactobacillus that forms a shape similar to soft tofu. That fermented milk is so called Plain Yogurt (Worldwide name) and Dr. Mechnikov concluded it is the source of long life.


Today, plain yogurt has been developed as a healthy and beauty food. More people are fascinated by yogurt because of its unique taste that attracts people to eat it again next time. Also it is now spreading worldwide since the worldwide economic growth in the 21st century made people to be interested with health and beauty.


Plain yogurt has lactic acid with pleasant flavor. Goat milk are used as raw material, it is easy to digest and gives good effect on our intestine. Yogurt is originated at Balcan province, Middle-east and specially cultured and enjoyed by the people from Mediterranean area. Because of the research conducted by Russian bacteriologist Dr. Mechnikov, which states that the yogurt helps prevent decayed components to be formed inside our intestines by removing pathogens, yogurt have been spread all over the world.

 Importance of Yogurt
  1. Lactobacillus produces various types of Vitamin B in our intestines.
  2.  It is easier to absorb calcium since calcium has been dissolved by the lactic acid.
  3. Yogurt made with skim milk contains no animal fats; therefore, we won’t get fat.
  4. Yogurt does not produce intestinal gas.
  5. Yogurt is a perfect food. It means animal can fully grow up by only eating yogurt.
